Election Notice Information

Dear ACS Members:

As we seek to move towards paperless elections, the ACS has been using VR Election Services, an external vendor, to provide election-materials such as ballots and candidate statements to members. To support this effort, the vendor has offered ACS members the ability to "opt-in" to an electronic-only balloting process. Many ACS members have received an e-mail from ACS_Election_Admin@vres.us. A successful verification of your email address on VRES's website will allow you to receive and cast your ballot electronically.

If you did not respond to the email by September 18th, you will receive the traditional paper ballot, but will still have the opportunity to cast your ballot electronically, if you choose.

Please be advised that many spam filters change regularly, and even though the initial e-mail made it through, the email with the ballot may not. It is, therefore, important for you to note the following disclaimer has been revised from the one sent out with the original email from vres.us.

Disclaimer: There could be a potential problem with the delivery of your e-ballot due to various internal and external Spam/Virus filters or blocking devices. If you registered for an e-ballot and do not receive it by October 8th 2009, please check your spam filter. If an e-ballot is not there, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-218-4026, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CT or via email to the help desk at custserv@vres.us.

We hope that these changes facilitate voting and increase voter participation.

The Committee on Nominations and Elections (N&E) is pleased to announce the slate of candidates for the 2009 ACS national election. Members will have the option of voting for President-Elect and other members of the Board of Directors via the Internet, available 24 hours a day or by the traditional paper ballot mailed to you the week of September 28.

If you require a replacement ballot, or encounter problems with the voting process, please contact a VR Election Services’ customer representative at 1-800-218-4026, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CT., or via e-mail to the help desk at custserv@vres.us.
