ACS Silver Circle

The ACS Silver Circle is for members whose life experiences have earned them a silver "crown." Silver Circle members have valuable experiences in chemistry, which they are encouraged to share through outreach activities. They have common interests or concerns that may be addressed in local Silver Circle committees.

ACS Senior Chemists Task Force

At the 2009 Spring ACS National Meeting in Salt Lake City, UT, the Senior Chemists Task Force was created to determine how ACS can best meet the needs of this growing population of members.

Senior Chemists Sponsor Programs in San Francisco

The recently formed Senior Chemists Task Force has several programs planned for the Spring 2010 ACS National Meeting in San Francisco, CA. Sponsored by the Division of Professional Relations (PROF), and co-sponsored with the Division of Small Chemical Businesses (SCHB), Division of Industrial & Engineering Chemistry (I&EC), the Committee on Economic & Professional Affairs (CEPA) and the Senior Chemists Task Force (SCTF), a symposium, “How to Succeed in Business: The Consulting Business” will be on Monday, March 22, 8:30 a.m.–12:00 Noon. Location will be in the final meeting program.

A poster will also be presented at Sci-Mix on Monday night entitled “Senior Chemists Task Force – An Update.”

A dynamic program is planned for the Senior Chemists Breakfast on Tuesday, March 23, 7:30 a.m.–9:30 a.m. at the Marriott Marquis. “Do We Need Another Sputnik?” is the topic of the keynote speaker, Dr. Robert H. Grubbs, Nobel Laureate and Victor and Elizabeth Atkins Professor of Chemistry at California Institute of Technology. The cost for the breakfast event is $15.00 and tickets can be purchased when registering for the meeting.
