How It Works

Refer a friend, a student, a colleague or a spouse for membership -- Get a blanket!

If you recruit a new member through the Member-Get-A-Member campaign, we’ll send you a Periodic Table of the Elements blanket. The blanket is unique to the MGM campaign and is not available anywhere for purchase.

Deadline: December 31, 2012
Nominee’s dues must be received by December 31, 2012 in order for the Nominator to receive the 2012 Periodic Table of the Elements blanket.

MGM Applications


Nominee’s must apply with the MGM application form in order for the Nominator to receive a blanket. Paper applications are available for residents of North America and Outside of North America. And, of course the quickest way to apply would be with the online application.

The Nominators Membership Number is required.

Guidelines
  • The Nominator and Nominee must use the official MGM application.
  • Nominators will be sent their blanket once the Nominee is accepted for membership and pays his or her dues. To qualify for the MGM 2012 campaign, dues must be received by December 31, 2012.
  • Nominators will be recognized in an early January issue of Chemical & Engineering News and listed on the MGM website.
  • Nominees for membership can be former members who left the Society in 2010 or before.
  • Nominator should make sure their shipping address is current in their membership record.
  • Blankets are shipped the second week of each month. We prefer not to make deliveries to Post Office boxes. Please write to MGM@acs.org and provide a street address if available.
  • The MGM blanket will be shipped to members who recruit new members through the MGM Campaign while supplies last.

The Blanket
  • The 2012 blanket has two shades of teal and gold.
  • Made in the U.S.A.
  • Size: 50” x 60”
  • Material: 100% Cotton
  • Care: Machine wash, gentle cycle, for best results. Use only
    non-chlorine bleach.
  • Drying: It is best to hang dry or use the lightest heat temperature in the dryer.
  • Sorry, no substitution of gifts.
