ACS-Hach Second Career Teacher Scholarship

The ACS-Hach Second Career Teacher Scholarship is awarded to chemists interested in pursuing a Masters degree in education or becoming certified as a chemistry/science teacher. Scholarship recipients receive $6,000 for full-time study and $3,000 for part-time.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for an ACS-Hach Second Career Teacher Scholarship, you must:

  • have a Bachelors degree or higher in chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering
  • have worked in a chemistry-related field
  • be accepted into an education masters program or teacher certification program
  • be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

How to Apply

We are no longer accepting applications.

The next application period will be February 1 – April 1, 2010.

How to Renew Scholarship

Current scholarship recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA and provide an unofficial transcript by July 1, 2010, to renew a scholarship award. You will be notified of your renewal by August 2, 2010.
