Awards: Division of Chemical Health and Safety (CHAS)

Tillmanns-Skolnick Award

Purpose - recognize and honor outstanding, long term service to CHAS.

Eligibility - must be an ACS and CHAS member for at least five years and actively involved in its pursuits.


College and University Health and Safety Award

Purpose - recognize the most comprehensive undergraduate laboratory safety program in higher education.

Eligibility - nomination or verification may be made by a local ACS section or nearby industry that has on its staff an ACS member with expertise in laboratory safety


Howard Fawcett Chemical Health and Safety Award

Purpose - recognize outstanding individual contributions to the field of chemical health and safety.

Eligibility - given without regard to age, nationality, race, gender or race


Service Awards

Purpose - recognize services by individuals to CHAS


Fellow Awards

Purpose - recognize CHAS members in good standing who have provided continuous service.

Eligibility - CHAS membership for 15 yr or with <15 yr and >7 yr those who have been active for at least 3 yr


Special Awards

Purpose - recognize exceptional services rendered CHAS


Student Registration Fee Payment

Purpose - encourage student participation in the CHAS program at ACS national meetings.

Eligibility - any individual who qualifies for the undergraduate or graduate student or pre-college teacher registration fee who participates in the CHAS program
