Marvin J. Johnson Award in Microbial and Biochemical Technology

Purpose-recognize outstanding research contributions to microbial and biochemical technology.

Eligibility - must have accomplished independent and original research that has had exceptionally significant impact upon the field of microbial biochemical technology and must be an ACS member or affiliate.


James M. Van Lanen Distinguished Service Award

Purpose - recognize outstanding contributions to BIOT.

Eligibility - must be a BIOT member.


William H. Peterson Award for Best Student Presentations

Purpose - recognize the best oral presentation by a student and the best poster by a student in BIOT-sponsored sessions at an ACS national meeting.

Eligibility - must be a BIOT student member, for one presentation, past recipients ineligible.


David Perlman Memorial Lectureship

Purpose - honors the many contributions of the late Professor Perlman.

Eligibility - no restrictions


Industrial BioProcess Award

Purpose - honor organizations for achievements in the commercialization of novel processes exploiting biochemical technology.

Eligibility - must be a company, team, or organization; must make a presentation at an ACS national meeting; favor processes brought to commercial practice within the past 5-10 yrs
