The International Year of Chemistry 2011 (IYC 2011) was a worldwide celebration of the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to the well-being of humankind. Under the unifying theme “Chemistry—our life, our future,” we celebrated the year with a range of interactive, entertaining, and educational activities for all ages.

In business suits, lab coats and dressed as everything from magnesium to Marie Curie, more than 200 chemists kicked up their heels for the 2011 International Year of Chemistry (IYC) with a mass dance and original rap at the Anaheim Convention Center on March 28 at ACS’ 241st National Meeting.
