Division Annual Reporting

Annual report forms are prepared by the Council Committee on Divisional Activities (DAC), which has the responsibility for receiving reports and evaluating the effectiveness of division activities [ACS Constitution Article XIII, Bylaw VIII, Sec. 7 (a)].

The link to submit the 2008 Division Annual Report online will be sent to the Division Secretary in November 2008.

The annual report serves four basic purposes:

  • Offers a review of your division's activities and an opportunity to evaluate the year's program and highlight those areas where the division may wish to do more.
  • Assists other divisions in program and activity planning through the pertinent information presented in your report and distributed by our office.
  • Presents an accurate picture of your division's accomplishments to DAC, which uses the reports to prepare its assessment of division activities for the ACS Council.
  • Serves as a historical document for your division.

Through the annual report review process, DAC can monitor division activities, identify trouble spots, ensure that emerging branches of chemistry are adequately represented, and provide data for reports to the Council Policy Committee. DAC also identifies innovative and outstanding projects so divisions can be recognized and rewarded.

Please provide detailed information on what your division is doing. Careful preparation of the annual report is important! If you have any questions on the materials included in this packet, please contact Office of Division Programs at 1-800-227-5558, x4401 or e-mail to division@acs.org.
