Writing for inChemistry

We invite ACS student members, faculty advisors, and mentors to share success stories and voice opinions by submitting articles to the magazine. Selected articles are published within one year of the date when we receive the final draft.

If you are interested in writing an article:

  • Email your idea to undergrad@acs.org
  • Submit up to four high resolution photos, and include captions
    We cannot publish any photos taken in a laboratory or of young children without protective eye wear
Article Ideas
Interviews Interview an eminent scientist at your school or local area.
Guest editorials Write an editorial on future perspectives or concerns about the chemistry profession.
Internship experiences Discuss internships, co-ops, service-learning, study or work-abroad experiences which have enhanced your study in chemistry and knowledge about chemistry careers.
Games Create crossword puzzles, trivia questions, or other creative and original creations.
Careers Write about technical- or career-related topics, such as new products and technologies, graduate school information, workplace issues and trends, special topics of national interest, or other new and innovative dimensions in the chemical sciences.
Successful chapters Compose a feature on model ACS student chapter activities involving community service, fundraising, career events, regional or national meeting experiences
