Do More with Less!
Dr. Paul B. MacCready, the American aeronautical engineer and father of human-powered flight, coined the phrase, "Do more with less." MacCready promoted conservation through energy efficiency and the innovative use of materials.
Through the creative manipulation of substances at the nanoscale, chemists have made key discoveries that have improved our environment and health, enhanced energy efficiency, and the quality of materials. For the 2012 NCW Community Event, we ask that ACS Local Sections identify and take action on at least one way to "Do More with Less" in their local community. Examples could be a recycling drive, a canned food drive, a health fair, park clean-up, or any activity that improves something in your local section's region.
