Join ACS in celebrating the Laser. Laserfest celebrates the 50th anniversary of the invention of the laser. The celebration was founded by the Optical Society (OSA), the American Physical Society (APS) and SPIE. Lasers are used in everything from fiber optics for communications to production of microprocessors, to DVD Players. The Laserfest homepage has downloadable educational videos; web based educational modules, and a laser timeline, and a calendar of laser outreach activities.
