Deadline extended: Apply by March 1
The ACS Green Chemistry Institute® is offering two awards that recognize student achievement in green chemistry. The Joseph Breen Memorial Fellowship will sponsor students to participate in any green chemistry conference or training program of their choosing. The Kenneth G. Hancock Memorial Award will honor outstanding students, whose contributions further the goals of green chemistry through research or education, with a cash award. The application deadline for each award has been extended to March 1, 2011.
For companies attending Informex in Charlotte in early Feb, you may be interested in a presentation and lunch (free!) sponsored by the ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable on Tuesday, Feb 8 from 1 – 2 PM in Room 201. The newly released Process Mass Intensity Calculation Toolwill be the focus of the presentation.

Two international conferences are uniting, June 21-23, 2011, to provide greater access to highly valuable exchanges of information, research and commercialization processes in the green chemistry and engineering fields.
The world's brightest scientific researchers, government and industry leaders will come together in Washington, D.C. to catalyze green chemistry as the solution to global challenges. This joint event commemorates 2011 — the International Year of Chemistry, which was designated by the United Nations.
One location, three days, twenty-one technical sessions and more!
The Profiles in Sustainability Awards are open to any exhibitor or attendee of InformexUSA 2011 and are designed to honor those organizations that successfully demonstrate their commitment to improving sustainability across three main categories: product innovation, process innovation and other green innovations. The awards were born from a need to recognize that sustainable chemistry is not just a passing fad or a niche branch for the chemical industry. Informex is bringing Green Chemistry to the forefront in traditional chemical forums. The awards will be presented during the Informex Gala Dinner on February 8, 2011.
For more information about the awards and the entry process please visit www.informex.com/profiles or contact Caitlin Devlin at cdevlin@informex.com or +1 609-759-4735.
The nomination information is now posted on EPA's Green Chemistry Program website at http://www.epa.gov/greenchemistry. Go to the nomination package.
Use this information to prepare nominations for the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Awards. Also, forward this to any of your colleagues who may be interested.
The 2011 nomination package has minor changes in the eligibility of companies, academic institutions, and their representatives for these awards; please see page 2 of the nomination package for details.
