About the Theme

The 244th ACS national meeting will showcase the latest advancements in biomaterials research as they are related to health and medicine. Many ACS divisions can participate in the theme, Materials in Health and Medicine, by developing interdisciplinary symposia that include:

  • understanding the complexity of biological systems at molecular and cellular levels
  • molecular design of novel biomaterials
  • probing the interactions between materials and cells/tissues
  • designing strategies to modulate the in vivo and in vitro responses of synthetic materials
  • designing novel devices for diagnostic purposes and adaptation of microfabrication tools for biological and medical studies
