The Continuing Education Department of the ACS seeks qualified instructors to teach classroom style and online short courses to professional chemists and technicians. To be considered for an instructor position with the ACS Short Course program, a candidate must be an excellent teacher and have a working background in the fundamentals of his or her chosen short course topic. We are seeking additional instructors to teach existing short courses and are seeking instructors for new courses for new course topics.
If you wish to become a new instructor for existing short courses, please forward a cover letter and resume to continuing_education@acs.org.
If you wish to teach a course in any of the areas listed below or wish to submit an idea for a new course, please download the ACS Short Courses Proposal Form and follow the instructions to submit your proposal. (Note: Before you submit a proposal, review our current course list to ensure that your proposal does not duplicate an existing course.)
Course materials must be developed by each instructor in PowerPoint or in a similar electronic format. ACS will reproduce materials for students. Selected instructors should be available 3-6 times per year to teach in various venues including ACS national meetings, other scientific meetings, on-site at client technical facilities, and at stand-alone sites in major cities.
The ACS pays a teaching honoraria plus travel expenses for each course.
