Brent Yacobucci is a specialist in Energy and Environmental Policy with the Congressional Research Service, where he has worked for nine years. He provides research and analysis for Members of Congress and their staffs on issues and legislation related to energy and the environment, such as alternative fuels, advanced vehicle technologies, vehicle emissions standards, and climate change. He has authored or co-authored over 50 reports for Congress, as well as journal articles, on topics such as U.S. climate change legislation, regulation of motor vehicle emissions, and ethanol imports to the U.S. from Brazil and other countries. Prior to his service at CRS, Mr. Yacobucci worked for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Federal Energy Technology Center and for the Alliance to Save Energy and spent time as an intern with the U.S. Embassy in Togo. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master’s degree in Science, Technology, and Public Policy from the George Washington University.
