Mr. Cooper is Vice President of Petrochemicals at the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association. He serves in a number of roles for the NPRA, primarily as an advocate for the petrochemical industry. He is a technical advisor to NPRA programs in the area of chemical risk management. He also leads the business development and reputation enhancement programs for NPRA’s petrochemical membership and represents the U.S. petrochemical industry internationally.

Mr. Cooper was a member of the National Pollution Prevention and Toxics Advisory Committee to the Environmental Protection Agency, and was involved with the development of the EPA’s Nanoscale Material Stewardship Program. Prior to joining NPRA, Mr. Cooper was Senior Manager of Government Relations for the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA), a specialty chemical association, and was a senior communicator at the Chemical Transportation Emergency Center of the American Chemistry Council. He also has a background in military intelligence, specializing in the Middle East.
