Subcommittees

Annual Reports and Divisional Status Subcommittee
The Annual Reports and Divisional Status Subcommittee is responsible for reviewing all division annual reports to determine the state of health for each division. The Subcommittee is also responsible for the initial assessment of proposals to form a new division, to dissolve an existing division, or to merge two or more divisions. The Subcommittee periodically evaluates the written procedures, ACS Constitution, Bylaws, and Regulations as well as DAC procedures and guidelines, that govern these actions and suggests changes where necessary. The Subcommittee also monitors the Secretariats that exist for programming at national meetings and, at the request of the full Committee, may study other formal or informal interdivisional activities.

Constitution and Bylaws Subcommittee
The Constitution and Bylaws Subcommittee keeps DAC apprised of petitions coming before the Committee on Constitution and Bylaws (C&B) and the Council, especially those that directly affect divisions, and to present official DAC positions on C&B matters to that Committee.

Divisional Enhancement Subcommittee
The Divisional Enhancement Subcommittee helps ACS Divisions meet their objectives, providing financial support as possible through Innovative Projects Fund Grant. This will include recognition of excellent divisional initiatives and funding of innovative divisional activities. In addition, the Subcommittee will evaluate and facilitate implementation of divisional recommendations (carried over from the "long term planning" subcommittee).

Meetings Subcommittee
The Meetings Subcommittee reviews meeting activities with respect to the ACS Technical Divisions needs and issues such as the annual division allocations and national meeting thematic programming. The Subcommittee also keeps DAC informed of issues being considered by M&E. Guidelines for programming, speakers, paper submission requirements are reviewed as needed. The Subcommittee facilitates and evaluates all Society meeting venues related to divisional activities and enhances programming activities between divisions and other venues.

DAC/LSAC/M&E Joint Working Group
The DAC/LSAC/M&E Joint Working Group encourages and promotes collaborative interactions between local sections and divisions. The Subcommittee recognizes and rewards exemplary programs that are joint activities between local sections and divisions. The Subcommittee also enhances member services outside national meetings.
