Melvin Mooney Distinguished Technology Award
Sponsor: Rubber Division of the American Chemical Society, Inc.
Purpose: The purpose of this award is to perpetuate the memory of Melvin Mooney, the developer of the Mooney Viscometer and other testing equipment, by honoring Rubber Division members or affiliate members who have exhibited exceptional technical competency by making significant and repeated contributions to rubber science and technology.
Nature: This award consists of $3,000, an engraved plaque, and gratis lifetime Division affiliate membership. The recipient will also receive $500 for travel expenses incurred in attending the awards ceremony meeting.
Eligibility: The recipient shall have made repeated innovative contributions to rubber science and technology. The award is restricted to Rubber Division members and affiliate members.
Deadline: July 15 (annual review by committee)
Establishment & Support: Rubber Division, ACS established this award in 1983. Lion Copolymer has sponsored this award since 2007.
