Northern Ireland

The Northern Ireland chapter has been an active member of the multinational research group QUILL since its inception in 1999. Their industry/university co-operative research centre (IUCRC) addresses the needs and concerns of industry through a two-way flow of information on ionic liquids chemical and engineering research.

Nottingham

The Nottingham chapter participates in a Clean Technology supercritical fluids research group made up of 35 industry, government, and academic representatives. A full size supercritical fluid manufacturing plant has been built by Thomas Swan & Co Ltd, Consett, Co Durham. Nottingham has a four year undergraduate program, Green Chemistry and Process Engineering, that is run jointly between the School of Chemistry and SChEME ( School of Chemical, Environmental, and Mining Engineering).

York

The Green Chemistry Network which has its hub at York, UK, has extensive education material available on its website ranging from schools through to higher education to industry. The Green Chemistry and the Consumer project recently launched by the Network aims to deliver knowledge and understanding of Green Chemistry to consumers and retailers. The Network produces a newsletter, runs events and provides an information service.
