Call for Nominations
Nominations for the 2012 Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge are now being accepted. This prestigious award, the only national award that carries the name of the President of the United States, recognizes significant accomplishments in five categories each year.
Although there is no direct monetary reward associated with the program, winning the award certainly has many positive benefits for the recipient, and in turn for the academic institution with which they are associated. Perhaps one of greatest of those benefits is the prestige and recognition that comes with being acknowledged for making a positive impact on our environment. Moreover, the positive publicity associated with winning the award can in turn lead to increased career opportunities for the recipient.
The deadline for nominations is December 31, 2011. Self-nominations are encouraged and expected. Nominations are limited to eight pages, so they are not difficult to prepare. Please refer to the full nomination information available from EPA's website.
The ACS Green Chemistry Institute® has sent to academic institutions across the country, outlining the program and calling for nominations.
