Purpose: To recognize a recent advancement that is having a major impact on research in organometallic chemistry.
Nature: The award consists of $5,000 and a certificate. Up to $1,000 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed.
Eligibility: A nominee must have shown outstanding research in the preparation, reactions, properties, or structure of organometallic substances. Special consideration will be given to demonstrated creativity and independence of thought. Preference will be given to U.S. citizens.
Deadline: November 1 (annual review).
Establishment & Support: The Dow Chemical Co. Foundation established the award in 1983.
