Sponsor: ACS Division of Environmental Chemistry

Purpose: To encourage creativity in research and technology or methods of analysis to provide a scientific basis for informed environmental control decision-making processes, or to provide practical technologies that will reduce health risk factors.

Nature: The award consists of $5,000 and a certificate. Up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed.

Eligibility: The award will be granted without regard to age or nationality.

Deadline: November 1 (annual review).

Establishment & Support: The ACS Division of Environmental Chemistry will begin sponsoring the award in 2011. Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. established the award in 1978 and sponsored the award until 2010.
