Eligibility, Terms, and Conditions for ACS Petroleum Research Fund Grants for Scientific Education (Type SE)
- ACS PRF Grants for Scientific Education are made to non-profit scientific or educational institutions in support of activities which promote “advanced scientific education and fundamental research in the petroleum field,” in accord with the Agreement of Transfer of Trust creating the American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund (Transfer Agreement), dated October 25, 2000.
- In accepting an ACS PRF Grant for Scientific Education, the grantee agrees to use grant funds for the purposes set forth in the approved proposal, to refrain from charging for overhead or administrative costs, to report to the ACS on the spending of grant funds, and to return unspent funds at the expiration of the grant, if, for any reason, funds cannot be used for the purposes of the grant.
- In order for the ACS to comply with Article SECOND, paragraph (d) of the Transfer Agreement, reports on activities assisted by ACS PRF Grants for Scientific Education shall be furnished to the ACS so that the Society can make said reports available to the public at large and to the Donors of the American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund.
- Any publication resulting from an ACS PRF Grant for Scientific Education shall give credit to the Donors of the American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund. The preferred form of acknowledgment is as follows: “Acknowledgment is made to the Donors of The American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund, for the support (or partial support) of this (activity).”
