Doctoral New Investigator Grants
Time Extensions
If there are funds remaining in your PRF grant upon expiration, up to two, one-year, no-cost time extensions can be approved. Email your PRF Program Manager or the PRF office (prfinfo@acs.org) to request a time extension. For grants on time extension, only the annual financial report is required, and the annual personnel report if students were supported with PRF funds; the annual narrative report is optional.
Transferring Institutions
If you are moving to a new institution, your PRF research grant can usually be transferred with you. Please contact your PRF Program Manager or the PRF office (prfinfo@acs.org) for the necessary approval and forms.

*Narrative Progress Reports
Report length should be 1000 words or less. A graphic Table of Contents and Nugget are also required elements. Narrative progress reports are submitted online and will be published in the PRF Annual Report.
**Bibliographic Citations
In order to comply with the requirements of subsection (e) of Article SECOND of the Transfer Agreement, each report made and publication prepared by the principal investigator(s) in connection with ACS PRF grants shall acknowledge the support of this research to the Donors of the American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund in the following manner:
"Acknowledgment is made to the Donors of the American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund for support (or partial support) of this research."
Use of the ACS PRF logo when acknowledging this support is encouraged. Download the ACS PRF logo.
ACS PRF compiles bibliographic citations of publications acknowledging support from the Petroleum Research Fund for publication in the PRF Annual Report. Bibliographic citations are submitted online. Please submit citations for published articles or book chapters only; do not submit for articles that are "in press". Do not send in reprints or preprints.
