Workshops

ACS offers a workshop for Kids & Chemistry volunteers to help prepare them to do hands-on science activities with elementary school children. Participants in the workshop will get tips for planning and presenting activities and learn about safety and liability issues. A variety of elementary science education resources available from the ACS will be introduced and attendees will get an opportunity to try out some age-appropriate hands-on activities.

This workshop is offered at all ACS national meetings and some regional meetings. It is also available locally to local sections, Student Affiliate chapters, and employee groups. There is no cost for the workshop; however, the hosting organization is expected to cover accommodations for the ACS presenter.
