“Having a Ball with Chemistry”

October 19-25, 2008

National Chemistry Week (NCW) 2008 looked at how and where chemistry is connected to sports materials, such as shoes, equipment, and clothing, and to the biological factors underlying performance, such as physiology, metabolism, and nutrition.

All of the resources below support the theme and the activities that were developed to accompany it.

  • Bytesize Science Podcasts
    During October 20-24th, the NCW website and the Bytesize Science website debuted four “Having a Ball with Sports”-themed podcasts produced by the ACS Office of Public Affairs. (Bytesize Science is a podcast for kids of all ages that aims to entertain as much as it educates.)
