10th ACS ChemLuminary Awards Honor Hundreds of Volunteers in Philadelphia
The 10th annual ChemLuminary Awards celebration was held in conjunction with the ACS National Meeting in Philadelphia on August 19 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The ChemLuminary Awards recognize the dedication, hard work and countless hours that ACS volunteers contribute in support of their Society. ACS President Bruce Bursten opened the event with welcoming remarks to the approximately 400 ACS members who attended to honor the winners and finalists in 45 award categories.

In addition, the Award for Volunteer Service to the American Chemical Society and the Helen M. Free Award for Public Outreach were presented. For the first time, an ACS Regional Meeting was recognized for outstanding performance in organizing and hosting a regional meeting.
