The ACS ChemClub supports high school chemistry clubs in exploring the chemical sciences through after-school activities, social events, and community service.

In 2005, the ACS Education Division decided to further its role in cultivating interest in chemistry among high school students by sponsoring high school chemistry clubs across the nation. Based on a high interest in expanding the program, the Society is now opening up registration to all U.S. schools.

ChemClub of the Month
Lakeland High School
The ChemClub of the Month is the Lakeland High School ChemClub in Lakeland, FL. Their chemistry club has:
- worked with their local Fire Department to collect and distribute smoke alarms
- celebrated National Chemistry Week by teaming up with a local Student Affiliates chapter to perform science demonstrations for area elementary students
- developed a ‘Science Show’ that has served more than 370 elementary students
