Patent Law Fundamentals Webcast Course

Overview

This seminar is intended as an introductory primer in US patent law for scientists, engineers, and managers involved in business and technology. The seminar covers the fundamentals of how to:

  • Identify and document an invention
  • Search for patents related to the invention
  • Apply for a patent application

Attendees will become familiar with the types of patent applications, patentability requirements, the parts of a patent application, and the prosecution process for getting a patent application allowed before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Course Instructor

Bob Migliorini is an in-house patent attorney and provides counsel to his clients in IP law, including patent preparation and prosecution, patent opinions, client counseling, and IP contracts. He is licensed to practice law in various states and before the USPTO.

For the audio portion of the live session, we will use a telephone conference call for attendees from the U.S. and Canada. You will need a phone near your computer capable of making long distance phone calls to a 1-800 number. A hands-free or speaker phone is highly recommended.
