Responsibilities
  • Provide continuing support in the development, review, and promotion of ACS education materials and activities for technician education
  • Promote the inclusion and recognition of chemistry-based technology programs within ACS

Advocacy and Public Relations Subcommittee

Responsibilities
  • Promote awareness and greater acceptance of technicians/technologists as chemical professionals among employers, educators, students, ACS, and the general public
  • Identify, promote, and/or initiate independent or collaborative activities with other ACS governance bodies that supports and advocates change to broaden inclusion of the chemistry-based technician/technologist profession
  • Facilitate communication between ACS, employers and other technical and professional societies concerning critical issues of common interest in the area of technician/technologist activities

Technician Subcommittee

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with technicians/technologists, employers, and ACS governance bodies to identify ways to address the needs of working technicians
  • Identify and promote resources for the professional development of chemistry-based technicians/technologists
  • Identify and promote leadership opportunities for chemistry-based technicians/technologists in ACS
  • Serve as the governance link for chemistry-based technicians/technologist within the ACS
